Miss Rebecca Abaidoo Ocran

Asst. Headmistress (Administration)

I am Miss Rebecca Ocran Abaidoo, and I hail from Saltpond in the Central Region of Ghana. I joined Ghana Education Service in 1996 after obtaining my Teachers Cert A from OLA Training in Cape Coast. Upon completion, I was posted to Nsien near Axim to teach in a Basic School.  After teaching for three years, I gained admission into the University of Education, Winneba to pursue a B.Ed. in Social Sciences majoring in Geography. I also have a second degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Cape Coast.

I taught Geography at Takoradi Secondary School from 2002 to 2017. In 2017, I qualified to become an Assistant Head and transferred to GSTS as an Assistant Headmistress (Domestic). After working on domestic issues for about a year at GSTS, I was moved to Administration.  Currently, I am the Assistant Headmistress (Administration).

I am a Union Leader (National Officer of the National Association of Graduate Teachers – NAGRAT, Ghana). I serve on some national and international labour committees, and I look forward to seeing our efforts yield results in an increased number of females in Union Leadership.

I am happy to be part of the GSTS family.  I am very positive of the working relations with my Boss and colleagues and hope to position GSTS on a higher pedestal of Academic Excellence.

I am a member of the Church of Pentecost. I believe in hard work, and I am quite a determined person. I am disciplined and believe that anything worth doing is worth doing well.
